Triple Degree Awarded

Following the successful completion of each year (M1 and M2), LIVE graduates will receive a triple degree award.  The partners fully and automatically recognize the courses and examinations proposed within the LIVE Master course in each University of the Consortium. This means that each of the universities where LIVE student spends one semester will award a full Master degree in line with national legislation.

Barcelona (SP):
based on the Master in "Advanced Immunology" program will deliver
  • Spanish national degree co-delivered by the Universitat de Barcelona & the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona
  • Erasmus Mundus Master's Degree in Leading International Vaccinology Education / “Máster Universitario Erasmus Mundus en Educación Internacional en Vacunas”
Antwerp (BE):
based on the Master in "Infectious and Tropical Diseases" program will deliver
Lyon and Saint-Etienne (FR):
based on the Master "BIOLOGIE MOLECULAIRE ET CELLULAIRE, spécialité Infectiologie fondamentale" program will deliver
  • French national degree co-delivered by the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 and the Université Jean Monet Saint-Etienne
  • “Master BIOLOGIE MOLECULAIRE ET CELLULAIRE, spécialité Leading International Vaccinology Education"

LIVE Diploma Supplement

In addition to their degree certificates, graduates will also receive a LIVE Diploma Supplement signed by the President of the LIVE Coordinating Institution. LIVE Diploma Supplement outlines:

  • The name and the degree of the training in English.
  • The overall organization of the Master Courses and the added value which it brings to the student
  • The details of the student's study programme
  • The full transcript of all ECTS credits obtained during the master course and will mention the titles of the courses as used at the respective institutions

This will help employers and universities to understand your skills and achievements during the LIVE course.

To ensure transparency and the conversion of marks between institutions, the LIVE courses uses the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).  The number of ECTS awarded relies on the workload realised for each module.

Degree recognition

The LIVE Master is recognised as an academic qualification in countries across the world.

Students are enrolled to run the LIVE programme with a qualification equivalent to 180 ECTS (bachelor level), and then they acquire 120 ECTS during the two-year LIVE Master programme. Like most universities require a minimum of 300 ECTS for participation in a Ph.D. programme, the LIVE Master conveys the ECTS qualifications required to register for a Ph.D. programme.
