Language Policy

Language policy.PNG

On the one hand, English is the language of instruction of the LIVE. Students must be able to understand rapid, idiomatic English and express themselves clearly in speech and writing. To facilitate the administration of the Master, and avoid any kind of discrimination, it is decided that the official language of the LIVE Master is English, which is the scientific language worldwide and must be fluently spoken at the end of the JMD-LIVE by all students. Applications, submissions, courses and seminars will be carried out in English. Examinations will be conducted in English. The Master Thesis must be submitted and defended in English.

On the other hand, language courses are part of the curriculum of the JMD-LIVE students for 12 ECTS (10%). The LIVE programme favours the multilingualism of the students. It is possible for the students to register for additional credits to further improve their language skills. We expect that the LIVE students will improve their language skills in two languages different from their native language.
